The jobs are only going to the IBEW 18 and some to the IBEW 11. I have heard the LADWP say that they would go to Arizona for IBEW workers.
The solar cells are being imported from China. There are no current solar manufacturing facilities in Los Angeles today.
The companies that are in the United States that make solar cells are back logged about 3 years.
You should be out there fighting for all Union jobs - jobs for everyone. You are being given the wrong information. There are no jobs for everyone - just check with the Labor Relations Representative at the Southern California District Council of Laborers Organizing Department.
We want "Made in the USA" and "Jobs for all."
